First! And please, don't mind my bad English…

To begin with, I would like to introduce you to the GearCollector plugin. It collects gear (and items) from your Safe/Storage/Locker/etc, places them in your main inventory and stores what you no longer need. It's very handy and easy to use.

Download it from main Windower plugin screen and turn it on. The GC uses Spellcast .xml files, so even if you don't use Spellcast, you'll still need to create a /plugin/Spellcast/your_character_name folder inside Windower folder. Every job uses a separate .xml file, named with it's abbreviation (WAR.xml, BRD.xml, RUN.xml, etc).

If you use Spellcast, you don't need to do everything else to start using GC. If you use GearSwap, it can export your gear sets directly to .xml format with command //gs export sets xml. Rename the file and place it the proper folder. If you don't use anything, open your Notepad and create the .xml file (.xml files are, in fact, common text files). Inside, just type
Name_of_the_item
for every item you want GC to take. For example, if you want GC to pick Legato Dagger, Gendewitha Caubeen and Warp Cudgel, your .xml file should look like this:

Legato Dagger

Gende. Caubeen

Warp Cudgel

Please note the items must be named after their simple forms in the item list, not the expanded ones in their descriptions (e.g. Mdk. Shawar +1, NOT Marduk's Shalwar +1)

Save the .xml file, go to your Mog House, wait until your inventories are full loaded, open Windower console and type gc Name_of_the_file without placing .xml, (gc BRD, gc RNG, gc GEO etc). It'll start to pull your gear and store the unwanted items. Wait until it finishes.

I hope this helps, it saves A LOT of time. See ya!

…and this will keep me from taking 15 minutes to gear a job?

Because my inventory is a colossal mess. Will it grab stuff from anywhere in your inventory, or just the stuff that is technically on you?

It can take items (anything, not only gear) from everywhere, except wardrobe and slips, but by default it'll not mess with Storage. However, it can be altered in settings (/plugins/settings/GearCollector.xml).

If we are really using Harry Potter's glossary to speak about Voldemort in game, I suggest we call this one Accio.

This is an example of my RNG GearCollector File for RNG.

It should be kept in the folder Windower 4/Plugins/Spellcast (yeah, because GearCollector pull everything from our no longer used spellcast files).

You don't have to place only gear there, you can have items you don't want to be taken off your inventory, like Sole Sushis, Reraisers and whatever.

Please note that it does not matter the format, it could be either:

Manibozho Gloves
or
<hands>Manibozho Gloves</hands>
you don't really have to pay attention for that.

To determine what case it will push/pull, you can see the file GearCollector.xml under the folder Windower4/plugins/settings. There you'll set to true all the inventory cases you want to use:

<useSatchel>false</useSatchel> - will not mess with Satchel
<useSack>true</useSack> - will mess with Sack

Accio is an excellent suggestion. :D

I will have a look at that so that I might understand it and not show up to delve in, say, my alliance shirt.

Thanks guys <3

Okay, so maybe someone can answer me why I crash upon logging in roughly 75% of the time.

Is it my plugins? I don't use many, timers being one of the most obvious, and FFXIDB which keeps me from getting more lost than I already do…

Could it be the parser? That thing….I don't know. I stopped using Spellcast awhile back because I'd crash after zoning each time.
